So remember when I said that Cal State's weren't feeling the effects of the budget cuts? I was wrong. So very wrong. As of today, four of my five professors are required to take furlough days. This means that they are required to take the day off without pay. Sucks, right? What sucks more is the way this cuts into my education.
While many students are excited about the extra day off, I and a few other students are dreading it. Taking a day off from school means I have to do extra work, or in some cases miss a section entirely (but the latter is just speculation).
I am very irritated. Budgets cuts are cutting in to my education. How can I plan for my future if I'm even sure if my school is going to have winter or summer sessions? How far behind will I be?
Even financial aid is behind. Students wait in line for hours just find out if they are getting it. How can we plan our semesters and come up with back up plans if we don't have correct information?
Its all bad.
